Invent Coworking invites you to bring your own bag lunch and join us for a incredible talk by a seasoned professional on the subject of risk.
Dave Reed will talk about some of his observations and experiences with risk. These are based on rubber-meets-the-road experience: working with the EPA during the crafting and implementation of the Risk Management Program; as an army program manager for environmental health risk assessment; primary creator of a corporate project management, visibility and budgeting system; managing hundreds of projects as both an employee and consultant; and currently as a chemical health risk analyst. He has a BS in chemical engineering, a Ph.D. in environmental engineering and an MBA. Areas of risk specialty have included chemical, health and environmental risk management for over 30 years. Dave has also led a team that created and implemented a world-wide project, mission, budget and time management system for a large military medical command with hundreds of projects a year.
Dave will talk about making better risk decisions by reversing the common perspective of risk. He posits that the common perspective of a risk decision boils down to: What do you want, what can you do about it, what are the consequences, and how likely is it that you’ll get what you want? Dave proposes that this common approach is a recipe for mediocrity at best and failure at worst.
Come by Invent Coworking on Wednesday May, 9th and hear Dave talk about changing your perspective on risk and making better decisions based on the idea that a successful risk decision isn’t based on your risk: it’s based on others.
