We are thrilled to welcome Kevin Buck, founder and CEO of Chocolate Necessities, for his presentation entitled “Lessons Learned from European Chocolate: How Quality Drives a Business.”
Chocolate Necessities just celebrated its 32nd year in business at the same location on Guide Meridian. Kevin has also operated the downtown shop for the past 12 years. He started at home making truffles with imported, highest-grade chocolate and rare ingredients. He then quit his maintenance job with Ferndale School District, opened his store, and expanded into the world of original-recipe chocolate creations.
Kevin will also present a chocolate tasting along with his talk! Come enjoy tastes of the world’s finest chocolate and gain insights into how a small business has sustained steady growth by emphasizing top-quality international chocolate and authentic Italian ice cream. You’ll also learn (and taste) the vast difference in real chocolate vs. “marketing chocolate,” or as its better known in North America, candy (a bad word in an authentic chocolate shop).
On Oct. 4-5-6, Chocolate Necessities & Gelato is celebrating a Grand Opening of its new location downstairs from Invent on the Commercial Street side of the Crown Plaza building (1408 Commercial St).
